Sailing into the sunset

As you may have noticed, things have been a little quiet around here lately. Following the burst of activity which culminated in my write ups of the characters from Star Trek 2009, i've realised something. The group in which i'm involved has been leaning on me a little too heavily of late. I'd pretty much planned out games for the whole year, two of which were originally going to be run by other members of the group. For various reasons, these guys passed on running the games and I stepped in. I had good intentions, but last weekend I realised that I was no longer happy with being the sole content provider. I have a lot of other things going on in life; a full time job, a wife with a full time job, a ten year old daughter about to start secondary school with SATs to contend with and a busy schedule of activities and so on. I posted on the group's Facebook page my intention to withdraw from the group and received no reaction for several days. There seems to be very little will within the group to continue if i'm not going to be running the games, with the exception of one member.

It appears that group has now finished, and no one took me up on my offer to run a final session next week.
What does this mean for my gaming? Well, there is nothing at the moment. I've been offered the chance to jump into a game in June, which I'll probably accept. There's always the chance of other stuff cropping up but we'll see what happens. I'm sure this is not the end of my gaming career but it's certainly a hiatus, at least for now.
