Shop, shop

Last Saturday I made a long anticipated pilgrimage to the mighty Leisure Games in North London. This trip was a late birthday present to myself and three of my gaming pals came along for the ride.

It's an hour and a half drive to the shop from where I live. Thankfully, the drive into London went very smoothly and we arrived with no problems. How joyous it is to spend some quality mooching time in a game shop.

I soon accumulated a nice little pile of goodies. First thing I grabbed was Zombies!!! This is a game which is apparently owned by everyone I know so now I have joined the club. I'm sure my wife and daughter will enjoy sending hordes of hungry zombies my way. Along the same lines, I also picked up a copy of Munchkin. Another one for the family to play. Finally, I picked up some RPG books including Fate Core and Accelerated, Fate Dice and the Savage Worlds Super Powers Companion. Last but not least, I finally picked up a copy of Classic Car Wars.

This little lot will keep me busy for some time to come. Thank you Leisure Games!

Character Building

So as promised i"ve started the process of using this blog as a forum for hosting characters that i've created over the years. These were created in different systems and some, frankly, most of them have never been played. I'm also going to start using the blog to host some newly created characters as a test for some new (to me) systems. First up will be a character for Far Trek.

Olive skin, brown eyes and an unruly shock of black hair. Although youthful in appearance, his eyes betray some part of the anger within his soul.

Juan Carlos is Portuguese, and proud of it. His background was privileged and he was apprenticed to the famous Portuguese merchant, Luiz Valdes de Lobo.
He was sent to sea as a young man on one of de Lobo's ships where he was treated with great respect and affection by the crew. On one fateful voyage, a Spanish privateer attacked the ship and murdered most of the ship's company for its cargo of textiles. Carlos was clever enough to hide his true position on the crew and was spared by the Spaniards because of his age. He was put to menial work on the ship and bided his time. His chance for escape came when the Spaniard vessel was itself attacked by a pirate ship. The young Carlos joined the fight on the side of the pirates, and when brought before the pirate captain, declared his true identity and his skill as a navigator. The pirate captain could hardly believe his luck and so began a life as a buccaneer. Although considered too valuable to risk in combat often, Juan has managed to acquire some skill with the rapier and nurtures a hatred of the Spanish.

Renny's Hall Of Heroes

You can't complain, it hasn't been a whole year, right? Just a quick post to mention that i'm going to start posting up some more characters for various RPG systems over the coming weeks. I have a lot of odd characters floating round on bits of paper and i'd like to finally preserve them in the tubes of the internet.
